Meet the speakers
Clarence is the Head of Retail & Business Banking at Oliver Wyman for engagements for customers across the Asia-Pacific region. He was the founding partner for Oliver Wyman in Asia in 1996, and has more than 30 years of experience working with financial services institutions on topics such as retail distribution, SME banking, omni-channel, risk management, digital transformation and customer value proposition design. Most recently, he has been working with several digital banking license applicants, including helping them with their partnerships, partnership structures and value proposition designs.
William is the Regional Director at Mambu for Asia-Pacific region. William is an experienced senior leader with a broad range of experience and skills including sales- and business development, professional services, FSI solutions and analytics, and process automation. With over 10 years of experience working with market leading fintech, William has firsthand experience working with legacy technologies and is a sound advisor driving technology-driven business transformation. William’s key strengths is in payments and transaction banking has proven capability to deliver improved customer outcomes through developing product and customer focused solutions.
Myles is the Head of Security, Risk and Compliance engagements for customers across the ASEAN region. He works with banks, insurers and digital native challengers. Myles works directly with our customers’ CISO, CIO, CTO and compliance leaders to support them in building net new digital challenger models and migrating regulated and critical workloads to AWS. Myles liaises with ASEAN region financial regulators to ensure all parties have a deep understanding of the cloud shared responsibility model and the measures that AWS is taking to support customers to secure and protect their critical data and systems in AWS. Prior to AWS, Myles worked with JP Morgan in Singapore and UBS Investment Bank in Switzerland and UK.
Coenraad Jonker is the co-founder and CEO of TymeBank, a digital banking business operating in Africa and Asia. He has more than 23 years’ experience in banking, law and professional services. He began his career with Edward Nathan Corporate Law Advisers in 1996 and became its Chief Executive Officer in 2000. In that year, he also joined Nedcor Investment Bank’s executive committee. In 2005, Coenraad joined Standard Bank as Director of Community Banking where he led a new strategy to extend banking to underserved consumers, adding digital channels and more than a million additional customers to the bank. In 2011, he moved to Deloitte as a Partner. In June 2012, Coenraad launched the fintech start-up Take Your Money Everywhere (TYME). The business was acquired by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in January 2015. In 2017 he was appointed as Group Executive at CBA, responsible for its international retail banking and insurance business. At the end of 2018 Coenraad led the buy-out of the Tyme business from CBA. Since January this year he is CEO of the Tyme business in Hong Kong and Chairman of TymeBank in South Africa. He holds an MBA and two law degrees with honours. He has held multiple Board positions, including eBank Namibia, Vietnam International Bank (VIB) and PT Bank Commonwealth in Indonesia which he chaired until December 2018.
Sean Hunter is CIO of OakNorth, based in London. OakNorth is one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups, dedicated to providing tech-enabled debt finance for SMEs as they grow and scale up. Prior to this he was CIO of Signac, a JV between Palantir technologies and Credit Suisse using advanced analytics to detect rogue traders and other types of employee fraud. This was a continuation of his previous work as a Forward Deployed Engineer at Palantir, where he was focused primarily on trader oversight at large financial institutions, and in particular Palantir’s work with Credit Suisse. Before Palantir, Sean was a strategist in the securities division at Goldman Sachs. Over a period of 8 years he worked on various desks including equity exotics and hybrids, mortgages and algorithmic trading. Prior to GS he was IT director at a dot com startup writing their initial systems and managing a growing development team through two IPOs. Sean is an advisor to entrepreneurs at Antler, the social impact startup Kamayi and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Digital Banking. Sean contributed a chapter to "The RegTech Book" (Wiley Press) and is co-author on two patents in the field of anomaly detection.
