Who we are
EFP is an independent consultancy with a clear focus on the Banking and Financial Services sectors; primarily in Germany – for over 20 years now. Our customers see us as close and trustworthy partners, who accompany and support their various projects, changes and initiatives. Our fundamental strength is based on our strong professional business and IT expertise –allowing us to effectively bridge and consolidate business and IT views -a quality proved in several migration projects. Despite a clear focus on specific tasks, our approach is always based on a holistic view.

Our team comprises Senior Experts and Managers, who have numerous years of management experience in the industry and have partnered our customers in their various projects and initiatives. We have extensive expertise in the fields of banking, cards and payment business, combined with comprehensive system and process knowledge.

Our expertise is based on the experience of our staff gained through previous management positions held with Banks or Financial Services Institutions, and through working on numerous projects and engagements as consultants for our customers. These include strategic or compliance initiatives, as well as business process optimization undertakings, resulting in changes to systems, service providers or processing fundamentals.

Over the years we have advised and supported numerous and diverse customers in the card business based on our profound knowledge of what is a very complex environment – ranging from strategic issues, several portfolio migrations to operational challenges. We have an in-depth knowledge of the specific business needs across the cards business value chain.

We have helped our payments business customers sharpen their business models and identify new business opportunities in a market that is increasingly driven by technological and regulatory developments and changes. Through our involvement in the payments market over many years now, we have been closely engaged in the implementation of the Euro, SEPA, PSD and new payment methods, as well as in providing advice on the challenges associated with Instant Payments, PSD 2 and the resulting unbundling of banks and banking services.

Our bank clients have been supported through our engagement in compliance related projects covering topics such as SEPA, Basel 2, MaRisk, MaSI, as well as transformation undertakings in Operations (e.g. Business Process Outsourcing) and IT strategy (e.g. system or platform selections, integration and migration of portfolios). Other projects include core banking systems, CRM strategy and systems, as well as data warehouse and analytics projects, where we’ve helped to obtain actionable information and intelligence from heterogeneous data sources and design and implement centralized data pool solutions for targeted decision making and support of daily management and control tasks.
