We are looking for a passionate, skilled and enthusiastic VP of Product to join our team and serve as the product leader to evangelize product strategy and drive thought leadership throughout the core banking product organisation. Responsible for developing and executing on the strategic vision and product roadmap, as well as coaching, growing, and developing a diverse team of thoughtful Product Managers.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • 1. Develop a Cohesive Strategy for Mambu Banking Platform
  • Explains the Why, Directs the What, and is Accountable for the delivery
  • Understands the implications of developing technology for the highly regulated banking industry
  • Defines the product portfolio vision and product strategy across multiple banking products
  • Creates and maintains a portfolio level view of the product roadmaps
  • Effectively communicates strategy to team members and executives
  • Works with the C-suite to set organisational goals for the teams, and deploy them to the right areas
  • Translates product strategy into inspiring vision which resonates across product, marketing, and sales

  • 2. Architect Data-Driven Growth
  • Sustains company growth, expanding from $50M to $200M in the next few years
  • Collaborates with CPO/CTO, VP Eng and Sales Leadership to drive results
  • Understands the intricacies of geographic expansion and/or M&A strategy
  • Champions longer term thinking and responsible for major trade offs to achieve strategy and visions

  • 3. Guides Individual Product Strategies
  • Contextualises a broad company vision to the individual product managers so that they can create a vision and roadmap for the product that is in line with larger goals
  • Ensures each product solves customer needs in a B2B growth environment, has well-defined business objectives and prioritisation frameworks
  • Helps PMs identify and foresee value proposition gaps and create short and long term product plans to address needs with clear, rational prioritisation
  • Advocates for technology advancement and composability of APIs, which are the building blocks for custom solutions

  • 4. Advances Product Management practice
  • Develops current talent into outstanding product managers who understand customer needs, market trends, and have solid prioritization and communication skills
  • Directs the creation of processes and brings in tools which enable PMs to make informed decisions about their products
  • Plans, budgets, and recruits for open positions as the team expands
  • You have:

  • 7-10 years experience in technology product management, with at least 5 years leading product teams in a dynamic organisation, preferably growing a product from $50M up
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Banking / Fintech
  • Deep experience owning strategy, roadmaps, and understanding how to rally teams to execute upon a thorough long-term plan
  • Passion to lead a growing product organisation to create tools that make a difference for the modern banking industry
  • Ability to span product and technology with a mix of direct oversight and indirect influence
  • Willingness/flexibility to adapt to and shape evolving role over time
  • Experience in tightly collaborating with sales and marketing to understand trends/needs and enable high growth through product development
  • An understanding of sales, marketing, and financial operations to a high enough level that they can act as top-level advocate for evidence-based cross-functional decision making in the company
