Mambu & Nordiska

We are pleased to announce that on 5 December 2019, together with our customer Nordiska, Mambu won the prestigious FinTech Futures Editors Choice Award at the 20th annual Banking Technology Awards in London.

About the submitted project:

Nordiska is a fully licenced and regulated Swedish financial institution, which in the past offered public savings accounts and traditional lending products. In 2014, after a change in ownership, Nordiska embarked on a journey aiming to unlock new financing areas for companies that have developed a market solution but require funding and an engine to drive the product.

In order to enable this move, they had to change their technological approach. Nordiska’s legacy in-house platform was based on two separate, unconnected systems for assets and loans, which could not offer a single view of customers and required labour intensive and slow maintenance.

Mambu, a cloud-native core banking engine, was brought on board to help Nordiska move to a modern cloud platform to increase flexibility, provide a single view of the customer through a fast and flexible tech stack and work with a host of partners through open APIs. Mambu provided a fully scalable, SaaS core banking backend to handle all production data and transactions.

After a March 2018 launch, Nordiska Integrated Partner began scaling in May 2019. It expanded to Finland and Germany and today Nordiska is truly agile, with the ability to centralise and work with partners to move and change fast, be fully compliant and utilise the full power of their systems to offer better service to customers.
